Does time of the bath make any difference in sleep pattern? Shahab Haghayegh, a doctoral researcher in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin investigated to find it out and published in journal SLEEP MEDICINE REVIEWS.

For this Haghayegh and colleagues analyzed the data of 5322 studies from databases such as PubMed, Cochran, Medline, Web of Science, PsycInfo and CINAHL.

Researchers reviewed the effects of “Water Based Passive Body Heating” on several factors of sleep quality such as:

  • Sleep Onset Latency (SOL): It is how long it takes to fall asleep
  • Sleep Efficiency: It is a method to measure sleep that divides the time a person asleep by they spend in bed minus SOL
  • Subjective Sleep Quality
  • Total sleep Time
  • Slow Wave Sleep: It is the deepest phase of sleep.
